Rubber Bearing

Rubber Bearings are used not only for propeller shaft but for cutter shaft head of dredging vessels. Besides the above ,Rubber Bearings are applied for vertical pump shafts.

Our bearings are used on various vessels such as cargo boats, ferry boat, tug boats, pusher boats, navy ships, fishing boats with approvals from LR,ABs, BV,NV, CR, NK respectively.
Recently the demands for Rubber Bearings are increasing in place of Lignum Vitae on account of a sharp rise in price and abnormal abrasion of Lignum Vitae. Our bearings with quality rubber do not damage the shaft sleeve and offer smooth rotation of the shaft over a long period of time.

As figured, the rubber is vulcanized onto the shell wall,
and the determined numbers of groove are provided,
along which the lubricating water goes through.
This type is mostly applied to rather big shafts. As figured, the determined numbers of strips with rubber are set in the shell housing.

MATERIALS

Rubber Materials
Special compound Synthetic Rubber
(having superior abrasion resistance, water resistance and oil resistance)
Shell Materials
Shells of BC3 or YBSC 3 are used for our standard rubber bearings.
Besides the above, those of Stainless Steel or Aluminum are often used for applied bearings on user’s request.

The followings are considered to be adequate in our experiences.

Replacement
The bearing shall be replaced when the clearance goes over the following figure.

Max. clearance for replacement should be decided, considering bending stress loaded on propeller shaft.
